These are a subcategory of Assembly but for these, it's usually easy to put the puzzle into its desire form. The hard part is making sure a set of rules is followed, such as placing 8 queens on a standard chess board so that none are being attacked - it's easy to place 8 queens on a chess board, but not so easy to make sure that none can attack another.
